Yes, if properly sized. Cold-climate units (Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat) maintain capacity at 5°F. Most Massachusetts homes use a multi-zone system or supplement with a small backup for the coldest 1% of hours.
Mass Save rebates are tier-based — typically $1,250 per ton on cold-climate equipment, capped at $10,000 for whole-home heat-pump installs. Single-zone bedroom systems can still earn $1,250+.
